how difficult could it be on election day? and do you think that on november 7th we're going to see a lot of challenges, something that could even leave the final decision in this state up in the air? >> rather than talk about what i think, i would just like to say i hope that doesn't happen. i think the country wants to know who the president is late on november 6th. the second of state here, john houston, he's a republican. he's been in the news a lot lately for several ropes, pro and con for him. he is confident that we'll know who the president is or at least who wins ohio sometime on november 6th, early november 7th. we hope that's the case. >> the atlantic essentially called him the man who will decide this election. .there's no doubt that he has been at the forefront of some voters suppression efforts. >> well, you know, in his defense, that's not exactly true. the republican legislature here originally tried to enact some new voting lawes and tried to introduce, actually, a voter i.d. law and secretary houston took it

those were wave elections. it's clear this election is not going to be one of those elections. while it does look like the electoral college math is a lot harder for romney and he's still working to put away states that he can't win without, like florida, like virginia, you also see obama clinging to very, very within the margin of error slim leads in states like new hampshire. unfortunately, none of us are allowed to sleep through election day. we're all going to have to watch the polls. >> i will let you gaze into your crystal ball, whether you like to or not, and give me a one-word answer if there is a state that keeps us awake on election night, what will it be? the conventional wisdom is ohio. molly? >> well, just because of the time zone difference, it has to be colorado or nevada. >> what do you think, dana? >> i'm hoping for a recount in hawaii. i'm ready to go out there. >> i'm with you on that one. dana and molly, may we all be going west if there is a delay. thank you, both. >>> homeland security secretary janet napolitano is in the northeast today to assess hurrican

after the election both democrats and republicans say this is something the country wants to solve. if i've won, then i believe that's a mandate for doing it in a balanced way. >> congresscomwoman if the president wins will they have to budge to raise taxes for the super wealthy to take care the debt? >> i think it's interesting to listen to his comments. basically the president's ideas on how to deal with an economy are an empty binder, if you will. we have brought forward item after item and suggestion after suggestion and bill after bill. we've passed bipartisan legislation in the house, and the senate won't take it up. what we need to do is make certain that we extend the bush tax cuts. we also want to go about closing some of the loopholes and primarily we have to cut federal spending. federal spending is completely out of control and making some cuts into this baseline so that you're actually reducing what the federal government spends is imperative. this president has put more debt on the backs of future generations and on the american people than any other president in histo

we're a week from election day. what are the stakes for this election? >> well, the highest, if it disrupts early voting and absentee balloting that each of the campaigns that counted on in the early states. it appears at the very first brush here that that may not have as high an impact since most of the damage is concentrated in other areas and new york state which is seen as safe for obama. mainly for scheduling purposes, i wouldn't expect to see either romney or obama in new hampshire or virginia again, and here's the rule of thumb in this is that for the president, good government is good politics and it would have been counter productive if he was out at a rally today because would still be a storm backlash. these events that romney and paul ryan have dealing with storm relief, that is a compromise between having a formal campaign event and going, just canceling the whole day of events and it's a delicate line and everyone has to be treading this close to the election in the wake of such an enormous disaster. >> singing the president's praises and
